Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) better known by her professional title Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. In October of 2016 Ari Lennox dropped her Pho EP. The EP was where she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music on the internet in 2012 as she released her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography In 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued uploading her songs online, as well as her own single Bound. On July 21st, 2015. Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes song"Sweat It Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then and wanted her to work on Rihanna reference. The official signing ceremony was held with Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was the result of her participation to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. In October of 2016, she released her first EP Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was joined by EarthGang. In 2018, she performed in two songs, with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The debut single, Whipped Cream, from the album came out the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a an accompanying music video. On November 9 she released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. On November 13 she then dropped two singles titled One and Pedigree. One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby is a track that she recorded alongside Cole on the soundtrack to Creed II on the 16th of November. It was then released as a standalone single in February 2019 to coincide with the release of her debut album. The 20th of February, 2019, a music video was released for the song. It has already received over 3 million views on YouTube in its first week. In support of the track she performed in concert with 6LACK in December of 2018 for the From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
