Aurora

Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th, 1995 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora or, sometimes, stylized in the form of AURORA is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th of 2015 and received great reviews from music blogs as well as from the press. Half the World Away from the band Oasis was made for an advertisement for John Lewis, and Nature Boy is a Nat King Cole cover. The singer gained further attention via a blog post from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her song Runaway. Celebrate her special day. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano within her loft and being fascinated by its music. The parents of her May-Britt family and Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to take up music not as a career or hobby but for growth. In order to do so she wrote her first songs that were her own creations. In addition to Bjork as well, she mentions Leonard Cohen as an influence. In response to her mother's suggestion that her children should not be aiming at achieving fame through their songwriting skills, she instead recognize the significance of their lives and their impact on society. She began playing the piano as her primary instrument, at six. She started making music at the age of nine. She didn't tell her family about it until she turned fourteen. Aurora has never imagined being a famous singer. According to her, she just enjoys writing songs. To her music, is the most effective method of expressing anything.
